I've been telling everyone I would post some photos on Facebook, and I kept trying to get on until it occured to me that something wasn't working. Well, it's not only China that blocks FB.
Anyway, here are some Hanoi photos from this afternoon. One big thrill was the legendary turtle of Hoan Kiem actually surfacing while I was there, and thousands of Hanoians running to the side of the lake to watch and squeal as he poked his head up on the water. The pagoda photograph is the "Tortoise Tower" in the lake, which was built in commemoration of the original tortoise in the 19th century.
